mmm... turkey chili

On a rainy day like today there is nothing like a steaming bowl of spicy chili!

This recipe is definitely a keeper, even if you already have a chili recipe of your own - give this a try someday - you won't be disappointed!

Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground turkey (you can use ground beef if you like!)
1 tablespoon of each: salt, cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cans diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 jar salsa
1 can kidney beans (if desired)
1 large onion, chopped

~ Combine ground turkey(or beef), salt, cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, black pepper, garlic, ground red pepper and crushed red pepper in large bowl

~ Heat oil in large skillet over medium/high heat. Brown turkey, stirring to separate. Drain and discard fat. Add tomatoes, salsa, beans, onion and mix. Transfer to crock pot.
~ Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours

~ Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips if desired.

Enjoy!!

Makes 8 servings, prep time 40 minutes.
